The short version
PixConvert processes your photos, PDFs and videos on your device. We never upload, store or see your files. The app has no accounts and does not ask for your name, email or phone number.
Your files stay on your device
Every tool in the app runs locally on your device, including compress, convert, resize, crop, rotate, metadata removal, watermark, background removal, face blur, PDF merge and compress, video compress and trim, video to photo, QR codes and image to text. Your files, their contents, camera frames and recognized text are never sent to us or to any third party. Results are saved only where you choose: your gallery, a file location, or the share sheet.
Images saved by the app have GPS location data removed by default, so a shared photo does not reveal where it was taken.
Permissions
- Camera: used only when you take a photo to edit or scan a QR code. Camera frames are processed on your device and are not stored or transmitted.
- Photos and files: you choose them through the system photo or file picker. The app cannot see anything you do not pick.
Data we collect
To keep the app stable and improve it, the app uses the following Google services. None of them receive your files or what is in them.
- Firebase Crashlytics: crash reports, including stack traces, device model, operating system version, app version and an installation identifier.
- Google Analytics for Firebase: app usage events (for example, which tool was opened and whether a job succeeded), an app instance identifier, and approximate location derived from your IP address. The app does not collect your Advertising ID.
- Google ML Kit: on-device machine learning for background removal, face detection and text recognition. ML Kit sends Google diagnostic information such as device model, operating system version, app version, performance metrics and a per-installation identifier. It does not send your images. On Android, Google Play services may download the on-device model once.
We use this data only to fix bugs and understand which features are useful. We do not sell it, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not share it with anyone other than these service providers. It is encrypted in transit.
Data stored on your device
The app stores your settings, such as the theme, and simple usage counters locally on your device. Uninstalling the app deletes them.
Your choices
Because the app has no accounts, the data above is linked only to random identifiers, not to you. You can reset these identifiers at any time by clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. If the app starts using a new service that collects data, it will be listed here before that version is released.
