How do I reverse an audio file online for free?

Can I reverse only part of a song?
Not here. The reverser always flips the entire file. Cut the part you want with the Audio Trimmer or MP3 Cutter, save it, then reverse that shorter clip on this page and place it back in your editor.
Does reversing change the pitch or length of the audio?
No. The same sounds play in the opposite order, so the length and the pitch of each note stay as they were. In a check with the same filter, a 5-second clip with a tone in its first second came back 5 seconds long, with the same 440 Hz tone in its last second.
Does reversing audio lower the quality?
Reversing itself loses nothing, but the file is saved again afterwards, normally at the standard quality for its format. A high-bitrate MP3 or a 24-bit WAV can end up slightly lower in quality than it started.
Can I reverse an iPhone voice memo or M4A file?
Yes. Voice memos are M4A files, and M4A opens here like MP3, WAV and other files your browser lists as audio. The reversed memo is saved as M4A again. Save the memo to the Files app or send it to your computer, then add it here.
Can I reverse the audio in an MP4 video?
Not directly. This page only accepts audio files, so an MP4 or MOV is turned away. Pull the sound out with Video to MP3 first, then reverse the MP3 here. The reversed track is not added back into the video.
Can I record my voice and reverse it here?
No. There is no record button, so the page only works with a file you already have. Record a voice memo on your phone or computer, save it, then add that file here and press Reverse Audio.
How do I undo a reversed audio file?
Reverse it again. Running the reversed file through the tool a second time puts the sound back in normal order. Each pass saves the audio again, so keep your original if you need full quality.
Why does a long recording fail to reverse?
Reversing needs the whole recording in memory at once, so very long files can run out of room in the browser tab and may show Something went wrong. Split the file into shorter parts with the Audio Trimmer, or close other tabs and try again.
Does my audio get uploaded when I reverse it?
No. The reversing is done by your own browser, and the download is made there too. Two things do travel over the network: the audio engine the page fetches from a public code library, and anonymous stats such as job time and size range. Your sound and file name are not included.
