How do I delete pages from a PDF for free?

Can I type page numbers to delete instead of clicking?

No. Pages are picked by clicking their thumbnails; there is no box for numbers like 2, 5-8 and no even or odd option. If you want chosen pages saved as separate files instead, the PDF Splitter takes typed ranges.

How do I remove a blank page from a PDF?

Look through the thumbnails, click each blank page so it turns red, then click Remove Pages. The tool does not find blank pages for you, so check pages that look empty but hold faint marks.

Does deleting pages change the rest of the PDF?

The pages you keep are copied as they are, in the same order, with selectable text and the same size and orientation. Bookmarks, the document title and links that pointed to other pages are not carried over.

Will the PDF be smaller after removing pages?

Often, yes, because the new file holds only the pages you keep. Shared fonts or images can keep it larger than you expect. For a bigger cut, run the result through the PDF Compressor.

Why is the Remove Pages button greyed out?

It stays off until at least one page is marked, and it turns off again if every page is marked, because the new PDF needs one page or more. An amber note says "Select at least 1 page to keep." in that case.

Can I delete pages from a password-protected PDF?

No. You can enter the password to see the pages, but saving fails for any PDF with a password or editing restrictions. Take the protection off first with our PDF password remover, then open that copy here.
