Length, weight/mass, temperature, area, volume, speed, digital storage, time, pressure, and energy. Each category includes both metric (SI) and imperial/US units plus common alternatives.
How accurate are the conversions?
All conversions use exact mathematical constants (e.g. 1 inch = 25.4 mm exactly, 1 lb = 0.45359237 kg exactly). Temperature conversions use the exact formulas. Floating-point rounding is applied at 10 significant figures to avoid display noise.
Does this work without internet?
Yes. All conversion logic is pure JavaScript math — no API calls. The tool works completely offline once the page has loaded.
Why are some conversions shown with many decimal places?
Some conversion factors are irrational (e.g. °C to °F) or have many decimal digits. The result is shown with up to 10 significant figures for precision. For everyday use, round to 2–3 decimal places.
Can I convert the result back to the original unit?
Yes — use the swap button to reverse direction. The result of the forward conversion becomes the new input and is converted back, which should return exactly your original number (within floating-point precision).
