Yes. Pick GIF on the Video tab of Output Format. The GIF is 480 pixels wide at 15 frames per second with no sound; our 10-second 720p clip gave a 2.48 MB GIF. To trim, crop or add a caption first, use Video to GIF instead.

Yes. Many browser and screen recordings don't store their length. They still convert, and the MP4 or WebM you get has its real duration. Because the length is unknown while it works, the tile stays at 0% until that file is done.

It depends on the length and size of the video, since each frame is re-encoded on your own device. In a laptop run of this engine, a 10-second 720p MP4 took about 37 seconds to become WebM, while a 10-second recording took about 25 seconds to become MP4. A 32 MB engine downloads first.

Yes. Your files are encoded on this device inside the tab and aren't sent to our servers. The page also loads ad and analytics scripts and its 32 MB video engine from the unpkg host. Analytics record page views and time in the editor; your videos and their names are not sent.

WebM Video (WEBM) uses lossy compression with good to excellent quality output. It does not support transparency and supports animation. Typical file sizes are small to medium.
