How do I make a handwritten signature online?

Can I make a signature without a background?

Yes, download the SVG. It holds only your ink strokes, with no background, so it sits cleanly on colored pages. The PNG has a white background. For a transparent PNG, run the SVG through our SVG to PNG converter.

Is a drawn signature the same as a digital signature?

No. This tool makes a picture of your handwritten signature. A digital signature is a certificate-based code added to a file that shows who signed it and that nothing changed afterward. This tool does not create one or sign files for you.

Is a signature image legally binding?

We can't promise it is. That depends on the document, the person receiving it and the law where you live. Some forms accept a pasted signature image, while some contracts require a signing service that checks identity. Ask the receiver what they accept.

How do I add my signature to a PDF?

Download the PNG, then open the PDF in a PDF app that can add images or signatures. Place the image on the signature line, resize it and save. This tool doesn't open or edit PDF files itself.

Can I copy and paste my signature into a document?

Yes, once it is downloaded. There is no copy button, so save the PNG first. Open it, copy the image and paste it into your document, or use Insert, then Image, in Word or Google Docs.

Can I type my name to make a cursive signature?

No. This signature maker is draw-only, with no typing mode and no fonts. For a smooth cursive look, write slowly with a stylus or finger, and pick the 2 or 4 px width, which looks closest to a pen line.

Can I upload a photo of my signature?

No, this tool can't open images, so draw your signature again here. A photo of a paper signature needs a separate image tool to clean up, and thin pen lines may not come out well.

What size is the downloaded signature?

Both files cover the full 700 × 280 pixel canvas, with space around your signature. They are not cropped. At 300 DPI, the PNG prints about 2.3 inches wide. The SVG is a vector file, so it scales to any size without blur.

How do I fix a mistake in my signature?

Click Undo to remove your last stroke. It goes back up to 20 strokes. Clear wipes the whole canvas, so use it only when you want to start over. Tip: a tap without moving draws nothing, so drag a little to dot an i.

Is my signature saved or shared anywhere?

No. Your drawing stays on your device and is gone when you close or reload the page, so save the file. You don't need an account. Like the rest of the site, this page counts visits with Google Analytics, but never what you draw.

How do I add my signature to an email?

Download the PNG, then open the signature settings in your email app and insert it as an image. Many email apps don't accept SVG files, so use the PNG. Resize it there so it fits neatly under your name.
