Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about calculating time between dates.

Does the calculator include both start and end dates?

The calculator counts the number of calendar days between the two dates, not including the start date itself. To include both dates, add 1 to the result.

What if the end date is before the start date?

The calculator always returns the absolute difference — it shows the same positive result regardless of which date comes first.

Does it account for leap years?

Yes. The total days calculation uses actual calendar dates, so leap year days (February 29) are correctly included when they fall within the date range.

How are months calculated?

Months are calculated as complete calendar months between the two dates. Partial months are expressed as remaining days. For example, March 15 to June 10 = 2 months and 26 days.
