Convert iPhone HEIC to Lossless PNG

Get pixel-perfect PNG files from your iPhone's HEIC photos. No quality loss, no compression artifacts — full transparency support and total privacy.

Why Convert HEIC to PNG Instead of JPG?

When quality and editability matter more than file size, PNG is the right destination format for your iPhone photos.

Edit-Ready Lossless Files

PNG's lossless compression means every pixel from your HEIC photo is captured exactly — no JPEG rounding errors, no block artifacts, no color shifts.

Full Privacy, Local Processing

Your iPhone photos — including any personal images — are decoded and encoded entirely within your browser. No upload, no storage, no server access whatsoever.

Broad Software Compatibility

PNG opens natively in Photoshop, Lightroom, GIMP, Figma, Word, and virtually every other application — without plugins or codec installations.

HEIC to PNG — Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about converting iPhone HEIC photos to PNG format.

Why would I choose PNG over JPG when converting my HEIC photos?

PNG is lossless — it preserves every pixel exactly and never introduces compression artifacts. Choose PNG when you plan to edit the image further, use it as a source asset in a design project, or need a reference-quality master. Choose JPG when file size matters more than absolute quality, such as for sharing or web upload.

Will the PNG file be much larger than the original HEIC?

Yes — HEIC achieves extremely efficient compression using HEVC encoding. A 4 MB HEIC photo can expand to 15–25 MB as a lossless PNG. This size increase is the price of lossless quality. For everyday sharing, JPEG conversion is more practical; for editing, the larger PNG is worth it.

Does converting HEIC to PNG improve photo quality?

Conversion cannot add detail that the HEIC encoding didn't capture, but it does prevent any further quality loss. The PNG captures the HEIC image at maximum fidelity — subsequent edits and re-saves will not degrade the image the way repeated JPEG saves would.

Can I convert HEIC burst shots or Live Photos to PNG?

Live Photos consist of a still image and a short video. Our converter processes the still image component of a Live Photo and outputs it as PNG. Burst shots are multiple individual HEIC files — upload them one by one or in batch to convert each frame to PNG.

How do I get HEIC files off my iPhone to upload them?

On Mac: use AirDrop or Image Capture. On Windows: connect via USB cable — when prompted, choose 'Keep Originals' to preserve HEIC format. You can also share via iCloud Drive or email the file to yourself. Avoid using WhatsApp or social media to transfer, as those apps recompress images.

Is there a file size limit for HEIC uploads?

We support HEIC files up to 50 MB. High-resolution iPhone photos from the 48 MP camera (iPhone 14 Pro and later) can be large — if your file exceeds the limit, try converting a lower-resolution version or sharing the image directly from the Photos app, which may offer a smaller export option.
